Биография
Получил бакалавра гуманитарных наук в Университете Халла, магистра гуманитарных наук в Суссекском университете и доктора философии в Университете Халла.[2]
Профессор литературы модерна и постмодерна кафедры английского языка и гуманитарных наук в Бирбек-колледже Лондонского университета.[2]
Ежегодно в весенний и летний семестр преподаёт в качестве заслуженного приглашённого профессора (англ. Distinguished Visiting Professor) в Колумбийском университете.[2]
Является автором статей в The Guardian и BBC, и неоднократно приглашался для дачи интервью о своих работах для BBC.
Научная деятельность
В область научных интересов Лукхёрста входят литература и лженаука конца XIX века, модернизм, научная фантастика, теория литературы, современная литература и культура.[3]
