Мёдолече́ние[1] (лечение мёдом) — давнее направление традиционной «народной» медицины[2][3], применение пчелиного мёда в лечебных целях (в качестве лекарственного средства)[4][5][lower-alpha 1][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17].

Свойства мёда зависят и от видов, и от места произрастания растений, с которых был собран нектар, из которого пчёлы сделали мёд[18][19][20][5][lower-alpha 2].

История медотерапии

Мёд употребляется человеком в пищу с древнейших времён, и использовался как лекарство на протяжении веков[4][21]. Как отмечают, само слово «medicine» (лекарство) может восходить к названию древнего эликсира «mead» (мёд) — лёгкого алкогольного напитка воды с мёдом[22].

Самые ранние упоминания о лечебном использовании мёда можно найти на шумерских глиняных табличках[23] (наиболее давний известный рецепт — на находке в долине Евфрат, датируемой 2100—2000 гг. до н. э.[24]). Мёд применялся для лечения в Древнем Египте (о его лечебном свойстве упоминается в Папирусе Эберса). Гиппократ назначал мёд при желудочных и печеночных заболеваниях. На лечебные свойства мёда указал и Аристотель. Целебные свойства мёда упоминаются в Библии и Коране. После появления современных лекарств, мёд перестал использоваться для лечения больных, и сохранился лишь как кулинарный продукт^{[источник?]}. Находит применение и в современной медицине[25][lower-alpha 3][4][26][27].

Использование меда для лечения заболеваний

Показания

Выявлены антибактериальные свойства меда и установлена чувствительность к нему штаммов некоторых микроорганизмов, в том числе Staphylococcus aureus, Burkholderia cepacia, Enterococcus faecalis, Helicobacter pylori[28][29][30][31]. Это может свидетельствовать о возможности использования мёда для лечения ран и незаживающих язв[28][32]. Ранозаживляющие свойства мёда проявляются в очищении поверхности ран, устранении отеков, антимикробной активности, устранении неприятных запахов, образовании грануляционной ткани и эпителия, а также улучшении снабжения тканей питательными веществами[31]. Мёд предлагается в качестве среды для хранения кожи, используемой для пересадки[33].

В справочнике Справочнике лекарственных средств Видаль мёд показан при дистрофии печени, хроническом гепатите и токсическом поражении печени[34].

Мёд используется при лечении широкого спектра травм, включая ожоги и незаживающие раны[35][7]. Применяется в косметических препаратах[7].

Противопоказания

Использование мёда противопоказано для применения, если у пациента имеется чувствительность к продуктам пчеловодства. Возможны побочные эффекты применения мёда у лиц страдающих сахарным диабетом[34][36]. Установлены случаи отравления при употреблении рододендронового мёда, которое сопровождается тошнотой, рвотой, потливостью, головокружением, понижением артериального давления, учащением сердцебиения и нарушением сознания[37].
